7 Days of Aloe: Aloe Berry Blast.
I am taking on a quest to incorporate aloe vera in my daily routine for its super duper nourishing profile. So, The 7 days of aloe incorporates an aloe mango berry blast smoothie or other weekly. Read a previous post about a few of the benefits of aloe vera. Benefits of Aloe Vera.

Consequently, I will only mention here that the Egyptians are recorded to have used aloe vera as far back as 1500 B.C. Aloe vera treats burns, infections and parasites. Besides, the Gel contains mostly water, 20 minerals, 12 vitamins, 18 amino acids and 200 phyto-nutrients.

First things first. If you have your own aloe plant cut a leaf and let it stand upright in a glass. Let the sap drain for a few minutes then wash the cut leaf with water. This lets the bitter sap drain out so your smoothie tastes better, not so bitter.
Peel the thick green skin off one side with a knife and spoon the gel out into a glass.
As you know there’s more than 1 way to do this. If you have a juicer, I don’t think the juice is any less potent if you use the juicer. I have tried both ways and really don’t have a preference. Cleaning the juicer after use is just as time consuming as peeling the skin manually. Try both ways for yourself and see which you prefer although manually may preserve all your nutrients best.
Aloe Mango Berry Blast recipe
1 cup almond milk
1/2 cup Aloe vera gel (half aloe leaf)
1/2 cup frozen berry blend
1/2 cup frozen mango banana blend
2 tbsp Honey to taste
Add all ingredients in a blender and blend on high until smooth. Taste and add more honey as desired to your taste. Pour in a glass and serve cold. Bon appetit!
