Ageless Radiance Gluten-Free Donuts
This is a spiced cinnamon Artisan hand poured homemade Ageless Radiance gluten-free buttermilk honey donut with flax and other nuts blend. Also called beignet, puff-puff and or mini donuts
Very tasty fluffy flaky bite size nutritionally dense beignets. Great as a nourishing snack cake with tea or for breakfast “beignet haricots.”
I am partial to cinnamon and used a lot of it but it was just perfect. You can reduce the cinnamon if you like. I wanted to add 1tsp chia seeds to increase fiber and nutritional profile but forgot to. So if you try it with chia please let me know how it goes. Since this is tasty to the very last bite, enjoy these ageless radiance gluten-free donuts without the guilt!!
My own spin on an age old beignets or puff-puff recipe
- 3 cups Gluten-free flour (I used 2 cups all purpose gluten free flour and 1 cup mix of nut flour blend, milled flax seeds and coconut flour)
- 1 tsp aluminum free baking powder or baking soda
- A tsp grated nutmeg, cardamom, grated cinnamon (or 3 drops of cinnamon cassia essential oil or both)
- 1tsp/packet Active dry yeast
- 1/4 tsp pink Himalayan salt
- 4tbsp buttermilk powder
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup honey
- 6 tbsp softened butter
- oil for frying
Firstly, mix all dry ingredients.
And then add butter and rub until mixture looks like bread crumbs
Next beat eggs and mix with honey and milk until smooth.
And now add liquid ingredients to the flour mixture
and mix until the batter is a dripping consistency.
Meanwhile, heat oil on medium heat and hand pour ageless radiance gluten-free donut batter into small balls into hot oil. Alternately, you can use an ice-cream scoop, a teaspoon or a table spoon to scoop the batter into the hot oil.
Deep fry until golden brown on one side and then flip donuts to the other side.
Lastly, remove from the oil and place in a bowl lined with paper towel to drain. Serve hot and enjoy!
